Star Wars fans complain Anakin's origin was 'ruined' in The Acolyte finale

Star Wars fans are complaining that something was ruined

Star Wars fans are seemingly angry over what could possibly be a change but quite likely isn’t really. Someone on Twitter, after the finale of The Acolyte aired has said that the appearance of a certain character somehow changes Anakin’s origins.

Let’s dive into this shall we? Of course, there will be spoilers as we’re talking about a big character reveal.

We recently spoke to the developers of Star Wars Outlaws to discuss the new open-world game

The post on Twitter says, “Darth Plagueis (hiding in a cave the whole time) got the idea to create Anakin from the lesbian space witches rather than it being his own idea.“

Okay, unpacking this will take some time but let’s just get this out of the way first. Literally nothing has been said about Anakin Skywalker in The Acolyte, no plans have been revealed, literally all we saw was Plagueis looking out of a cave.

But Plagueis doesn’t create Anakin, it’s not even an idea to. Anakin’s creation stayed a mystery for years until a small detail popped up in a Darth Vader comic.

This detail talks about how Palpatine influenced Anakin while he was in the womb by interacting with his mother Shmi.

It’s only in the Star Wars Legends literature that Plagueis had a hand in creating Anakin and that isn’t canon, as much as we’d love for some of that stuff to be included.

If anything, Plagueis was trying to manipulate the birth of Anakin and The Force retaliated creating Anakin as a pure being that then had to be turned later in life.

Who knows, maybe we will get Plagueis talk about wanting to create a ‘chosen one’ at some point, but this is essentially an original story so who knows what the creators have up their sleeves.

It certainly doesn’t change anything about Anakin’s origins, if anything it changes how Plagueis learns to control life via the force, but he isn’t going to find out exactly how Osha and Mae were created as the creator, their mother, is dead.
