Skyrim players need to learn this incredible trick they can use to phase through doors and walls - it’ll save you some lockpicks.
If the game isn’t full of glitches and bugs, can you really call it a Bethesda game? However while some can cause more harm than good, there are those that actually make the game easier for players, like this phasing reality glitch for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Check out our interview with the cast of Star Wars: The Acolyte below.
The glitch was discovered by a Reddit user on Xbox called flex645, who said by “running into a wall with a wooden plate on your face,” you can somehow “break the boundaries of space and transcend walls, gates and doors.”

They went on to say, “I mean, who needs a stupid skeleton key when all you need is some basic, low-budget, peasant platter?”
It’s pretty easy to replicate, and as they pointed out, it pretty much eliminates the need for lockpicks or the master key, which you get by advancing the Thieves Guild storyline in Riften.
Other players responded to the glitch in awe, with one calling it “a godsend when I couldn't get in Castle Volkihar and all my autosaves/quicksaves were past the point I was bugged.”
Another added, “This sounds interesting. I didn't know this was even possible.”

And that’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Skyrim glitches, though it does have us wondering if there are similar exploits that can be achieved in other Bethesda games like Fallout 4 or Starfield.
So if you’re on Xbox, PC or PlayStation and spot a wooden plate as you’re exploring, pick it up and see if you can phase through reality yourself, it might save you a few hours for a quest.
