The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim still holds up as one of the most impressive RPGs ever made, and it’s still taking us to school.
Bethesda really put everything it had into Skyrim and it shows, not just from the ace storytelling and open-world exploration but from the sheer attention to detail and creative freedom on display.
We know for a fact that The Elder Scrolls VI will be bigger, but will it be better?
Anyway, given how massive the game is before you start piling in expansion mods and the works, it’s easy to overlook certain things especially since everyone plays the game differently.

For instance, did you know that if you’re skilled enough you can actually catch arrows soaring through the air before they hit you?
I didn’t know that, and neither did a lot of players when Reddit user Escapist-Loner-9791 told us we could do it in an old thread.
“If your reflexes are good enough, or if you use Slow Time, you can actually catch arrows and bolts fired at you out of midair” read the comment, and while I knew you could collect arrows that had fallen on the floor I wasn’t aware you could swipe them midair.
Other players were equally amazed, along with some who flexed that they could catch them without having to slow down time first…

This thread was full of other secrets too, like for instance one player who said “It took me a dozen playthroughs to realize that Clear Skies counters Alduin's meteor showers,” which would have been handy to know in our playthroughs.
There are loads of others so I’d recommend checking out the thread to see if there’s anything you missed.
When you consider just how fantastic Skyrim is you can almost forgive Bethesda for taking so long with The Elder Scrolls VI, like how do you surpass your own masterpiece?
