Skyrim: Dawnguard finally gets a massive new sequel more than a decade after its initial release.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard was released back in 2012 and was a massive expansion for the ever-popular Bethesda RPG. The story of Dawnguard centres around an ancient vampire prophecy that vows to bring eternal darkness to the world.
Thankfully, a dedicated group of vampire hunters will stop at nothing to ensure that the prophecy is not fulfilled. However, players are also given the choice of becoming their own Buffy the Vampire Slayer wannabe or a demon of the night.
Yet despite being an expansion, fans have longed for more Dawnguard, at least officially, that day may never come. After all, five years after it was announced, we’re still waiting to see The Elder Scrolls VI, let alone being able to play it. Yet, a talented modder is here to save our darkness-filled day.

As reported by Gfinity, the Dragonborn sequel comes in the form of a mod called ‘Old Blood’ and we have a modder named Craftian to thank. The ‘Old Blood’ mod is said to be inspired by the Tabletop RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade. The mod features new quests, and NPCs, as well as added lore for those that choose to live the life of a Volkihar vampire.
What’s more, ‘Old Blood’ even features newly voiced lines of dialogue and branching storylines which could result in you being a leader of a faction. So if you’ve ever wanted to lead an army of blood-sucking vampires, now’s your chance.
The ‘Old Blood’ mod is available to download now via Nexusmods, however, before proceeding, the mod creator has left a content warning in its description. The mod is said to contain: “references to mass murder, slavery, cannibalism, torture and general horror themes. Some characters also use misogynistic language, given the underlying sexual imagery and cultural significance of vampires.”
“The goal, more than anything else, is to believably explore how these characters act as a functioning society, as they each grapple with The Beast in their own way. This provides a sliding spectrum of those still in touch with their humanity, as well as the feeling of being part of an actual clan,” continues the description.

“If anything in the mod makes you uncomfortable, play at your discretion. It is not reflective of my views and this is a work of fiction... I'm just here to tell stories.”
So please keep all of the above in mind, before experiencing the Skyrim - Dawnguard mod. In related news, with Bethesda now being a Microsoft-owned company, it’s more than likely that The Elder Scrolls VI will be a PC and Xbox Series X|S exclusive.
