Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 are all being remastered for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, Capcom has confirmed.
The classic survival horror adventures are all being touched up for new-gen consoles and will boast a variety of visual enhancements. Exact details on what's coming in the update have yet to be confirmed, but we'd expect improved resolutions and framerates at the very least. Any added bells and whistles on top of that would be a bonus.
The upgraded games, scheduled for later this year, will be made available for free if you already own the games on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. A free upgrade patch is also being planned for PC users, so don't worry about being left out.

Resident Evil fans will no doubt agree that the remakes of Resi 2 and Resi 3, as well as 2017's Resident Evil 7, are all part of a serious return to form for the survival horror series. Resident Evil 7 put the focus back on pitch-perfect horror in an intensely claustrophobic setting, while the aforementioned remakes breathed new life into two classic games.
The Resident Evil 2 remake, in particular, is as close to a masterpiece as the series has ever gotten. But all three games are more than worthy of your attention, if you've never played them. Just keep a spare pair of trousers to hand. It'll get s p o o k y.
