As much as we praise Red Dead Redemption, we tend to forget that its Undead Nightmare accompaniment is just as good.
So much so that players have recently been campaigning for Undead Nightmare 2.
Check out Undead Nightmare below!
First released way back in 2010 for Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare was a standalone expansion for the game which added a non-canonical zombie-horror themed story to the Rockstar classic.

Set in an alternate timeline, the story follows John Marston who has to set out to look for a possible cure for a zombie plague that has infected his wife and son.
Since 2010, Undead Nightmare has followed alongside Red Dead Redemption when the game was remastered for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and more recently in 2024, Windows.
However, fans have recently been calling out for Undead Nightmare 2 which would see Arthur Morgan face the zombie plague instead.
“Everybody wants RDR3 or GTA 6, but I really want this,” one user posted to r/reddeadredemption with an alternate cover to Undead Nightmare.

“So much creative freedom and they clearly had a lot of fun with the original.”
Although, as mentioned, Rockstar is currently hard at work on Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of its Fall 2025 release, it seems as though plenty of fans agree with this sentiment.
“I also thought about how cool it would be if the undead aspect also included the occasional vampire and maybe in the northern sections of the map there would be werewolves,” another user suggested.
“How cool would Arthur look in Van Helsing type gear dual wielding small semi auto crossbows and slaying vampires, or having to put silver bullets in your guns and shoot werewolves that move insanely fast in their hearts? It doesn’t have to just be zombies.”

User skralogy also had an incredible suggestion.
“Here is how I would start Undead Nightmare 2. Sun is setting, camera pans down to Arthur Morgan’s grave, Arthur’s hand shoots out of the ground.
He crawls out of his grave and makes his way off the mountain, he is half man half zombie. He greets his horse that died at the foot of the mountain.
It’s the same horse in your RDR2 save game.

All the people you killed come back to life and are attracted to you. Depending on your honor changes their aggression towards you.”
It is unclear if Undead Nightmare 2 will ever come to fruition but there is no denying that it will be happily received by fans.
