Red Dead Redemption 2's Strange Man has a horrifying cameo we all missed

Red Dead Redemption 2's Strange Man has a horrifying cameo we all missed

A strange case indeed

Red Dead Redemption 2 has its fair share of mysteries and none more so than the Strange Man who featured in both the 2018 entry and its predecessor.

Not much is known about Red Dead’s Strange Man, other than that he is strange and a man. Who would have guessed it?

Check out the trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 below!

He appears frequently to both John and Arthur and although the player does not learn much about him, he seems to know a lot about our gunslingers.

However, it appears as though other characters are also aware of this mysterious stranger as is evident by an Easter egg discovered by one Red Dead Redemption 2 player.

This comes courtesy of a thread of “horror level secrets” from Red Dead 2 courtesy of SynthPotato on Twitter.

Point eight draws attention to Herbert Moon, a store owner in the town of Armadillo.

A town, incidentally, that recently suffered from an outbreak of cholera which left it like a “ghost town” according to a newspaper article.

However, it appears as though Herbert is the only one not affected by the illness and when Arthur enters his store, there seems to be a portrait of the Strange Man propped up behind the store owner.

Although Herbert does not reveal anything, some players believe that he must have made a pact with the Strange Man which resulted in the town’s cholera outbreak.

I don’t know about you but it almost gives me The Picture of Dorian Gray vibes. Maybe he sacrificed the town to achieve immortality or maybe he is the Strange Man when he is older?

For now, the mystery has yet to be solved but with the Red Dead Redemption 2 fan base consisting of so many eagle-eyed players, if there are answers to be found, they will find them.
