Red Dead Redemption 2 fans warned they've under a week to claim free download

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans warned they've under a week to claim free download

Free rewards end soon

Despite not being as well supported as its big brother, GTA Online, there is still plenty of fun to be had in Red Dead Online and if you’re quick, you can claim some free rewards.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the prequel to the 2010 game from Rockstar Games and tells the story of Arthur Morgan, a leading member of the infamous Dutch van der Linde gang, the protagonists that were introduced with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release over a decade ago.

A month after the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, its multiplayer offering, Red Dead Online released in November 2018. Sadly, as much fun as Red Dead Online can be, it’s supported with far less content than GTA Online with developers Rockstar Games pretty much giving up on the Wild West multiplayer title.

Yet, players can still claim double XP, in-game currency and free DLC with regular content events such as the most recent ‘Free Roam Missions’. As detailed on RockstarGames.com, participating players can earn bonus content until 2 September 2024.

The ‘Free Roam Missions’ event began on 30 July and consists of five events, three of which are now over. The next event, the ‘Blackwater Series’ begins today and ends on 26 August with the event concluding with the ‘Elimination Series’ from 27 August to 2 September.

What’s more, if you play Red Dead Online at any point this month, you’ll be gifted with a black Patterned Bandana, as well as a Gardenia Hat for completing a round of Salvage or Condor Egg free roam missions. But that is not all, because you can also claim a free emote for achieving a three-day login streak.

Of course, there are loads of other free cosmetics, XP and currency to claim in Red Dead Online, so it might be wise to get in on the action before it’s too late.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online are out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
