A brand new Red Dead Redemption 2 mod has added over 30 new bandit hideouts to discover and take down.
The modding community for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been wild since it launched nearly five years ago, adding a wide variety of new content to keep the game fresh and interesting. From new properties to own, new graphical settings, and a horde of new missions and bounties to complete, the possibilities are truly endless.
Now, one mod has expanded the game’s bandit hideouts, adding over 30 new ones to find and annihilate. Simply titled “Bandit Hideouts”, created by crossed99 and Gunter Severlon, the mod does exactly what it says on the tin, places some new hideouts in the game's open-world for the player to get into firefights with.

You’ll have to find the locations of the hideouts yourself or use a map that comes with the mod, which can appear out in the open fields, in caves, woodland and other areas. What kind of bandits you find will depend on the location, as they’re all owned by one of the game’s existing factions, like the O'Driscolls or the Del Lobo gang.
You can even change the number of gang members that’ll appear in each hideout, making the challenge of clearing them out easier or harder depending on your preference. Bandits can call upon reinforcements to surprise the player, and if you decide a tactical retreat is your best option, think again, as they’ll chase you down on horseback if you try to run away.
It’s a nice addition to the game, and the quantity of hideouts is nothing to grumble at, even with a map it’ll probably take a while to find and destroy them all, especially if you don’t use fast travel for a true immersive experience.

Nice to see fans are more than willing to make their own Red Dead Redemption content if Rockstar Games aren’t willing to do it themselves. The studio is currently invested in the development of its next big open-world adventure, the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, which is promised to be “perfection” by publisher Take-Two Interactive, and is set to be one of the biggest games ever made.
Red Dead Redemption fans are looking ahead though to future instalments, with many anticipating a third game, or a remake of the original Red Dead Redemption, with the voice actor for fan-favourite protagonist John Marston, saying he’d be interested in returning for both.
