2018 sure did give us a couple of PlayStation bangers, eh? God of War? Banger. And Marvel’s Spider-Man? Banger, also. The former is playable on PC these days - and, oh boy, we are loving those mods. And it’s happy days again for personal computer users, as the web-slinging superhero is following Kratos and Son to PC, very soon.
As revealed in the June 2 State of Play presentation, Insomniac’s celebrated open-world adventure - which got a semi-sequel slash spin-off in late 2020 in the shape of Miles Morales - is heading to PC on August 12. That’s hardly any time at all, really. I mean, for the average spider it’s perhaps a long time. But in human time, it’ll be here before you know it.

Yes indeed, you’ll note the “Remastered” in that trailer. Quite what that means, we’re not totally clear on. Looks-wise, the game holds up - but presumably PC players will want to push their settings to the max, which is why the game’s makers have had themselves a lil tinker. I say makers - the PC ports are being handled by Nixxes Software, as reports VGC, not by Insomniac itself. Nothing will be missing in the port however - this will be the complete Spidey experience, as you may have already played on PS4.
Advert
Later in 2022, PC users will also get to play Spider-Man: Miles Morales, too - there’s no set release date on that one yet, but Sony has stated “Fall 2022”. That’s the autumn for folk in Europe, and Q3/4 to be super broad and appreciate that some of you live on the other side of the Equator, so your seasons aren’t the same as us lot in the northern half.
And yes, we’re already looking forward to (or, perhaps, fearing?) the mods for this one. Spidey’s suits were a big thing in the 2018 game - but quite what modders are gonna do to Peter Parker this August, I can’t begin to imagine.
