Lovers of the classics can rejoice to learn that a hit PlayStation 2 title is making its way to current-gen consoles as early as next month.
According to a discovery by PlayStation Store price tracker site PS Deals, 2002’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be heading to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles on 11 June. This will make it the first PS2-emulated title to arrive on next-gen consoles since 2019.

Expected to be added to the PS library as part of the classics selection for PS Plus Extra and Premium members, Star Wars: The Clone Wars will look better than you have ever seen it before with new features including custom video filters, rewind, quick save and up-rendering.

The PlayStation Store listing reads: “You are thrust into the heat of battle in the galaxy’s most unforgettable conflict. Lead the Republic army in the greatest battles of the epic Clone Wars as Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Your directive: stop the Separatists from reassembling an ancient Sith weapon of mass annihilation!”
With 16 single-player missions on six expansive worlds across the Star Wars universe as well as getting to play out one of the most epic battles in the history of the series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars is not one to miss out on if you missed out back in 2002.
Not only that but players will get to pilot 5 unique crafts including the “Republic gunship, speeder bike, fighter tank, assault walker and even a maru” against 30 combat units. Additionally, missions can vary from large-scale battles to small skirmishes with close combat.
Last but not least, with an offline multiplayer mode included for up to 2 people, players can choose to tackle the team-based strategy, deathmatch, king-of-the-hill, and cooperative endurance modes with friends.
