If you felt at all let down by May’s Essential-tier PlayStation Plus games, I’d imagine that the Extra-tier offerings might have helped alleviate that somewhat.
While many of those paying for the cheapest level of PS Plus subscription branded their monthly freebies as “trash”, those on the more expensive tiers have been flooded with incredible options - some even believe that the service may now have surpassed Xbox Game Pass’ quality as a result of May's Extra and Premium additions. There’s no doubt that this opinion has been largely influenced by the inclusion of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which is arguably the PS5’s greatest exclusive game.
Take a look at our review for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart below.
Seriously, if you’ve not already played Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, now is the perfect time to do so. Over on Reddit, those checking out the game for the first time have been blown away by its beautiful visuals.

“Rift Apart is absolutely gorgeous,” ShaddowFoxVX posted, along with a gameplay clip demonstrating just how stunning it is.
Others totally agree that no other new-gen game looks as good as Rift Apart: “In my opinion, it's the best-looking game so far in this generation. And it's so fun to play too,” MonoInTheMoon wrote. “This is the only next-gen looking game out so far. Horizon [Forbidden West] gets close, but is hampered by also being on last gen. The instantly changing environment shifting is also stellar. Hoping we finally see some more next-gen type games. Rift Apart is truly special,” commented szzzn. “Just booted up yesterday for the first time and I was shocked at how stunning it is. My first Ratchet game ever also,” added DGMGeneral07.
If Rift Apart isn’t really your thing, Extra and Premium-tier subscribers are also able to check out the highly acclaimed puzzle-platformer Humanity right now, which arrived as a day-one release on the service yesterday.
