It is hard to believe that any game would beat Grand Theft Auto V’s popularity (except maybe Grand Theft Auto 6) but one title has managed to gain shocking amounts of popularity.
With PlayStation Plus’ offerings not always up to scratch, it is safe to say that its April game selection was not one to miss out on. This is especially good news considering May is shaping up to be a brutal month for subscribers.
Check out the Dave the Diver launch trailer below!
Alongside its usual selection of up to 4 new titles as well as some surprise additions, April’s PlayStation Plus lineup welcomed a 2023 release that took the world by storm.

Dave the Diver, developed and published by MintRocket, is an action-adventure/management game that is now available at no extra cost for PS Plus Extra and Premium members.
“Dave the Diver is a casual, single-player adventure RPG featuring deep-sea exploration and fishing during the day and sushi restaurant management at night. Join Dave and his quirky friends as they seek to uncover the secrets of the mysterious Blue Hole,” reads its official synopsis.
What sounds like an exciting game is already climbing the ranks after it was reported by True Trophies that Dave the Diver is officially PlayStation Plus’ third biggest game debut, behind Stray in first place and Grand Theft Auto 5 in second.
This is perhaps unsurprising since Dave the Diver recently hit over 3 million copies sold as of January 2024 and is highly praised for its cosy gameplay, rewarding exploration and chill combat.

Here at GAMINGbible, we said it was “one of the year’s best games on the go” for the Nintendo Switch. Our review read: “A definite must-play, which is really saying something given how many must-plays we’ve already had this year.”
If you are yet to try Dave the Diver, make sure you take advantage of your PS Plus subscription this April.
