Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Plus Essential games for January 2023, and wouldn't you know it? It's the games that were already leaked days ago.
That's right, kids, reliable PS Plus leaker billbil-kun (via Dealabs) has yet again provided us with a 100% accurate prediction. Last week they claimed the PS Plus free games for January 2023 would be Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2. As you can see below, this is correct. Shocking. The new games will be available for PS Plus subscribers to add to their libraries at no extra cost from January 3.
That's not a bad lineup! Fallen Order is an excellent Star Wars game, and with the sequel Star Wars Jedi: Survivor arriving in March, now is the perfect time to pick it up. You can experience the story of Cal Kestis and his collection of space ponchos for free. What a time to be alive.

Meanwhile Axiom Verge 2 is a fascinating sequel to a wonderful indie game. It doesn't quite hit the heights of predecessor, but quite unlike anything else you'll play - I can promise you that. And Fallout 76? Well, it's much better than it was. No, really. It is!
As always, PS Plus subscribers will be able to add these games to their library, where they will remain free to download at any time for as long they're a paid-up subscriber.
