Did anybody take the long bank holiday weekend as an opportunity to dive into some of PlayStation Plus’ latest titles? Who’s to say it has to be a recent title for that matter? I nabbed Ghost of Tsushima from the extra tier library and I’m having a lovely little time with it.
Let’s recap on some more recent additions though. This month, all PlayStation Plus subscribers can grab Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Tails of Iron, and day one release Meet Your Maker. Sackboy: A Big Adventure is one of the PS5’s best games, so you should definitely grab that if you haven’t already. Fans are also super impressed with Meet Your Maker. I adored last month’s day one release, Tchia, too. PS Plus is really stepping up its game. In case you missed it, all PlayStation owners can grab some free extra Sackboy DLC. Today though, I’m here to tell you that a fourth free game has been dropped out of the blue.
Take a look at the trailer for Tchia below.
As reported by GameRant, the game is available to those who subscribe to the extra and premium tier - sorry essential folk - and is titled Anodyne. If you’re not familiar with this game, Anodyne is described as a “Zelda-lite” and was released back in 2013. Players are tasked with exploring and fighting their way through “surreal and creepy, nature, urban and abstract themed areas”. If you grew up in the 16-bit era, you’re going to adore the art-style.

Over on Metacritic, the game holds a score of 75. PC Gamer wrote, “It stays close to its inspirations and risks growing repetitive, but Anodyne’s darkly surreal atmosphere is gripping,” while Edge Magazine added, “This is a game for those who grew up in Hyrule but spent more time in Lordran in recent years.” Hooked Gamers said, “Anodyne is a game that, despite one very problematic gameplay element, manages to play with a tried and true genre and create something new and exciting.”
If this doesn’t sound up your alley, don’t worry. We’ve still got April’s extra and premium tier drop to come. In fact, we should get the full line-up tomorrow.
