Xbox Series X gamers just realising their download speeds are set up wrong

Xbox Series X gamers just realising their download speeds are set up wrong

Worth a try if your download speed is low

Certain Xbox Series X/S owners may be able to speed up their console’s download and upload speeds via the settings.

Depending on how you’ve set up your Xbox’s network connection, you could be limiting its potential in terms of speed, hindering the way you install new games and updates.

Have you played Halo: Infinite recently? Its newest season feels like the best update yet…

No one likes having to sit around and wait for a download to finish, especially when it’s a brand-new game you’ve been eager to play, so you want to make sure your console is in the best possible shape.

There are loads of guides out there on how to do this, but the one we’re drawing attention to today is a YouTube video that makes a really good point regarding your chosen internet connection.

It states that certain internet connections will give the choice between gigahertz speeds, and choosing the lower option will limit how much you can download in a short space of time.

Choosing the higher option if it’s available to you can sometimes double or even triple those speeds, so it’s worth keeping in mind if you weren’t aware.

Of course this only applies to certain people as internet providers are all different. I know my internet provider doesn’t provide multiple ways to connect to the internet and I’m sure the majority of others won’t either.

If you’re looking for sure-fire ways to boost your internet speed, there are options like ethernet cables, but the best way is to make sure your WiFi box is set up in the right area.

Somewhere out in the open where it’s not surrounded by objects or near metal for interference is best, and should provide a better connection for the majority of your devices.
