Xbox fans are excited to see that Sea of Stars will be getting an expansion as a free update to the RPG hit.
The new update, titled Dawn of Equinox, will be released on 12 November and bring a whole host of new features to the widely loved game.
Another Xbox RPG to get an update is Starfield which has received its first official expansion.
Headlining this update is a new co-op mode allowing up to three people to play through the campaign while sharing the same screen.

Also featured is a brand-new combat system called Combat 2.0, which brings the addition of Mystery Locks, "a new gameplay loop [...] revealing the ways to break the spells of enemies each time a new type is encountered in battle”.
On top of this, combat scenarios have been better balanced to give players a richer experience when fighting.
A new prologue experience awaits those replaying the game, plus a new cinematic scene that plays during a key moment of the game.
On top of all this is a speedrunner mode, new difficulty options, plus a bunch of quality-of-life updates that will improve many aspects of the game.

This is a completely free update for all players, not to be confused with the DLC expansion coming next year, Throes of the Watchmaker.
It seems fans are thrilled that this update gives them an excuse to play the game all over again, with one commenting, “Absolutely love this joyful game. Anything that features a squid playing live music in a tavern gets my vote.”
Sea of Stars is a throwback to the days of 90s RPGs that felt truly expansive despite their retro, yet still charming, visuals.
The game is available via Xbox Game Pass and can be downloaded and played right now.
