Xbox players will soon have access to an enormous open-world survival game they can play with friends.
Given how Xbox is striving to connect various platforms in online gaming, mainly Xbox consoles and PC, it’s only natural more PC exclusives make their way onto the system.
Take a look at Scum below.
The next title joining the Xbox game library is a survival game called Scum, which some are describing as Resident Evil mixed with Minecraft.

According to the game’s description, Scum revolves around the idea of reality TV going mad, with audiences demanding more violent entertainment which ultimately results in a televised fight for survival.
The game started as an early-access title in 2018 for Steam and has progressively improved thanks to new updates adding more content. The description for the latest version of the game states, "This new season moves the contest from the rugged, enclosed indoor arenas to the lush forests, rolling fields, and rugged terrains of TEC1’s own private Scum Island. Both fan favourites and new prisoners will clash in a ruthless war of survival while battling for the support of viewers, producers, and corporate sponsors for fame, gifts, and a chance of life after death."
Simulation and realism are a huge part of the gameplay, as players must manage things like their hunger, temperature, injuries and more if they want to survive the game, all of which are made more difficult due to monsters that roam the island.
It’s now been confirmed that once the game hits 1.0 update status, it’ll become available on Xbox platforms, though a release date hasn’t been shared at the time of writing.

It should make for a great multiplayer title though, or a solid single-player experience if you’re a fan of simulation and horror games.
Scum can currently be played on PC via Steam, and will likely release on Xbox sometime in 2024, hopefully.
