It’s hard to believe it’s taken this long but finally, Xbox users can enjoy the behemoth that is Genshin Impact.
Genshin’s gacha mechanics aren’t going to be to everybody’s tastes, but there’s plenty to love in this free open-world RPG.
I wonder if HoYoverse had an inkling of just how enormous of a playerbase the game would gather back when they launched Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4, Windows, and mobile in 2020.

That was followed by a port to the PlayStation 5 in 2021, but it’s taken an additional three years for the game to finally land on Xbox.
As of today, Wednesday 20 November, Xbox users can download Genshin Impact on both the Series X and Series S.
Take a look at Genshin Impact in action below.
If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know what the game is, allow me to fill you in.

Genshin Impact transports you to the world of Teyvat, a realm that’s full of elemental energy and consists of seven nations.
Each nation is tied to one of the elements and is ruled over by an archon, a god of sorts.
You’ll travel to Teyvat with your sibling from another world, but soon become separated.
Essentially, you'll set out on a journey to find your sibling but, of course, there are plenty of trials that’ll occupy your attention along the way.

As I said, gacha mechanics are involved which determine which characters you unlock - although some are unlocked naturally in-game.
If you want to throw money at Genshin Impact, it certainly permits - and I’d even say encourages - it, but it is possible to enjoy the game with no spends if you’re patient enough.
The only warning I’ll administer is that the game boasts a chunky file so you’ll need around 100GB of space.
If you’re also a Call of Duty and Fortnite player, I can hear your SSD drive weeping.

It’s to be expected though when Genshin Impact has received four years of updates and support.
Well, better late than never, they say. Dive in now.
