The next Xbox console will apparently be more like a PC according to the latest rumours, and it’s caused a lot of discussion.
We all saw this coming to be honest, as the more advanced gaming consoles have become the more they start to resemble PCs just not as high-end.
The Xbox Series X even looks like a PC with its design so it’s not a surprise future consoles would continue that evolution
Apparently the new Xbox console currently in development will essentially be a PC in a TV-friendly shell, so you’ll still be able to use it in a casual home set-up but benefit from the enhanced specs.

This comes from Jez Corden who’s quoted as saying: “I mean the whole idea of the next Xbox is that it's gonna be a PC in essence but with a TV friendly shell that also has a specific set of specs in mind, so developers will be building for Windows PC in a way but in such a way that they know exactly what the specs will be.”
Corden went on to say that no developer currently has a developer kit at the moment, which was another rumour being spread.
“If this is the case, I just hope it has a compatibility layer with Xbox One and Series games and the other backwards compatibility stuff” said one fan in the comments, saying it’d be a “slap” to Xbox owners who’ve spent a lot of money building up their library.
Some are interested to see if it’ll include PC features, like “if it will ship with the possibility to add Steam/Epic/GoG games,” unlikely but stranger things have happened.

Others slammed the idea, saying “I genuinely don't see the excitement for this approach. If it's a PC, then just buy/build a PC?”
Keep in mind for the time being that this is all still speculation, so let’s wait and see what Xbox has to say when the time comes.
