As this console generation slowly marches on, gamers are beginning to look to the future and what might be next from companies like Microsoft.
While we have no real idea of what’s next for Xbox, or even PlayStation, it doesn’t stop fans from guessing at the power of the next console, or even the name of it.
Everything is an Xbox now, so do we even need an Xbox Series 360 XL+?
On Reddit, one Xbox fan poses the question, “What would you name the next-gen Xbox console(s)?”

The naming conventions of Xbox have always been a bit odd.
We had the Xbox, followed by the Xbox 360, then the Xbox One, and now we have the Series X/S consoles. There’s no uniformity or theme.
BomberHARRIS goes on to suggest a few potential names, “Xbox VI-X & Xbox VI-S if they want to continue with two pieces of hardware, though this is still potentially confusing.”
The top reply is the rather scathing comment of, “It’ll be something s**t like Xbox Home,” from barbietattoo.

Another follows this with, “If they make the portable one, then It would be Xbox Home and Xbox Go hahahaha.”
What follows is a bunch of gamers either making jokes, or taking random stabs in the dark for the potential name.
“Xbox 720,” comments Assured_Observer.
“Xbox 7. Just so it’s one ahead of PS6 for the hell of it to see what Sony does,” comments SlickMittens.

Will Xbox revert to numbers for their next console? Will they continue with the ‘Series’ moniker? Will there even be another Xbox console that isn’t cloud-powered?
Who honestly knows at this point, but Redditors will continue to wonder until the time comes when Microsoft announces something new.
For now, we can laugh at suggestions like, “Super Xbox System 64,” from caspatcho.
Or even, “Xbox Series 361 X,” from elconquistador1985.
