Xbox quietly dropping massive RPG you can download and play free this week

How many hours will you put in?

Xbox is getting ready to bring us a new, and huge, RPG to play. 1 October will see the launch of Throne and Liberty, a new MMORPG from Amazon Games, adding another massive title to our backlog.

Yes, another MMORPG for Amazon. It seems a weird choice to oversee a couple of these titles, but Throne and Liberty seems to be doing well with early reviews and fans of the genre are happy to see the market expanding.

Throne and Liberty is coming soon to Xbox as a free-to-play title

Of course, this means many more hours being funneled into another huge game - something that so many titles are asking of us lately.

RPGs have reached a point where they’re so varied and Throne and Liberty will certainly add to the conversation.

It joins New World, also produced by Amazon, as well as stalwarts World of Warcraft, which recently got a new expansion, and Final Fantasy XIV.

Of course, this will be a great chance for console players to experience an MMORPG. While we do have a few titles, the genre mostly lives on PC due to the complex commands needing to be entered when playing.

Hopefully, this title will give users a slowly growing difficulty curve with plenty to do and tap into what makes the genre so great.

With the traditional mixture of PvPvE, you can find yourself trawling the vast open world for resources in between battles with other players or cooperating with them for large-scale fights.

With dynamic weather and times of day affecting the fights and the world itself, it seems Throne and Liberty will evolve as you play, bringing a new challenge every time you sign in.

If you’re looking to escape into another world - one that is completely free-to-play, then keep an eye on the Xbox store and download this RPG. Get ready for some late nights of grinding.
