Sometimes, waiting before you cash in all those Xbox points pays off.
Xbox users have been left in awe of one gamer’s financial savvy skills after said gamer ended up with $400 worth of free store credit.
As distracting as it is to learn that a major 2024 Xbox release is headed to PlayStation, you need to stay focused if you’re to channel the same energy as the above user did.

Have you seen the teaser trailer for Secret Level? You really should
On Reddit, Johnteshfan shared a screenshot of all the points they'd earnt after finally trading in the rewards they’ve “been saving since 2018”.
It’s difficult to believe considering how Microsoft has come down hard on other players who’ve attempted similar in the past.

“You’re lucky they didn’t ban you for that,” pointed out pinesolthrowaway.
“They’ve gotten a lot of people on big cash ins like this in the past for no reason at all. The program used to be great, but they’ve been reducing points, increasing the cost of rewards, and banning like crazy. Sad to see what used to be a good program like this now.”
Thankfully, this brave user was successful in their endeavours to make bank.
Although Johnteshfan isn’t saving for anything specifically, they’re relieved that they were able to score this massive cash out.

As fellow Redditor BigDaddyKrool pointed out, the OP has “robbed” Xbox of $400.
This player has much to teach us, it would seem.

For those of you looking at those redeemed points and feeling confusion, according to the OP, “if your account is old enough” you’ll be “grandfathered” a “better conversion rate” than what’s currently available.
We’ll have to take their word for it, though.
However, while happy news for the OP, caution is still advised.
“Be careful with Amazon now if you just happen to spend all that money at once. I did something like this a week ago and they accused me of having fraudulent gift cards.”

They continued, “I had to show Amazon proof that my funds were legit, and it took them almost a week to take the hold off my account funds. Save your redemption receipts, just in case.”
Turns out, having $400 in free store credit isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Still, we’d relish the opportunity to find out for ourselves.
