Three games are landing on Xbox Game Pass this weekend and this weekend only, so you better put some time aside over the next couple of days if you want to get the most out of these freebies.
That’s right folks, it’s time for Microsoft’s Free Play Days event - and there are three corkers on offer this time around.
The three titles up for grabs this weekend are CATAN – Console Edition, Worms W.M.D, and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Honestly can’t remember the last time I saw a Free Play Days line-up and thought every single game on it was a banger.

Alright, first things first: CATAN.
I’ve played a lot of Catan in my days, but that’s just because all my mates love the board game.
However I do know someone who is obsessed with Catan to the point that she gets a game in basically every day, so I sent her a text asking if the console version is any good. She replied with a “yes” and added a thumbs up, which is basically a 10/10 endorsement coming from her.
Next up, Worms W.M.D. This one gets a big old thumbs up from me too, mostly because I consider this one a bit of return to form for the Worms franchise. Worms W.M.D is a throwback to the older games, but with a shiny new art style. Easy recommendation from me, provided you’ve got mates to play it with.

Finally, Dragon Ball FighterZ. Look, I’ll be frank with you; I love this game. It’s probably the fighting game I’ve devoted the most amount of time to learning, which is saying a lot considering I love the genre.
However, the servers for this one on Xbox are barren. Most folks play this game on either PlayStation or PC.
Honestly, even more people seem to play this on the Nintendo Switch than on Xbox - which is baffling to me considering that a lot of those people are probably using JoyCons to play a fighting game (my own personal idea of hell).
I reckon that the Free Play Days trial will help the servers feel a little bit more active, but I can’t imagine it’ll help too much in the long run.

The trials for these three end on Sunday, March 2 at 11:59pm Pacific, so make sure you get your games in while you can!
