With the 25th anniversary of both the Xbox and the Halo franchise falling in November of 2026 it seems as though Microsoft has plans to celebrate the big milestone.
It is hard to believe but the Xbox brand and Halo franchise are both set to celebrate their 25th anniversary on 15 November 2026.

It seemed as though we only just celebrated their 10th anniversary but another big milestone is fast approaching and to celebrate, Microsoft is already making plans to commemorate the date.

In a recent interview with License Global magazine, Xbox’s head of consumer products John Friend took some time to discuss Microsoft’s plans for the 25th anniversary.
“We’re building plans for the 25th anniversary of Halo and Xbox—we have such a rich heritage and history, and these communities have been active for so long, you have to celebrate that,” he said.
Friend was reluctant to share what those plans could entail but with recent rumours hinting at a possible Halo: Combat Evolved remake, it would certainly make the most sense considering it would be 25 years since it first released.
Not only that but a possible remake could be released alongside the next generation of Xbox consoles, which if rumours are to be believed, will start shipping out in 2026 too.

Despite the big milestone, it seems fans are still feeling a bit skeptical and took to r/halo to share their thoughts.
“For the 20th one we got Halo Infinite's launch, so, I don't know if to be excited or wary,” one comment read.
Another displayed the same pessimism when they said: “I’m not getting my hopes up.
Considering the state of 343 and the industry, all I really expect is an anniversary playlist and possible collaboration with another company, merch, book or game.”

With two years still left to wait, it remains to be seen how the anniversary will be celebrated but here’s hoping it will be more than a bit of merch.
