Grand Theft Auto fans have just received an update on GTA VI that gamers on Xbox Series S will appreciate.
Following years of rumours, Rockstar Games finally released the first trailer for GTA VI in December 2023 and it was smashing view records instantly. At the time of the writing, the GTA VI trailer has garnered over 217 million views on YouTube nearly a year after its release.

Ever since the release of GTA III in 2001 on the PlayStation 2, the Grand Theft Auto series has pushed each console to its absolute limits and its most recent entry, GTA V was no exception. I still can’t believe to this day how much juice Rockstar Games got out of the PS3 and Xbox 360 when GTA V was first released in 2013.

So it will come as no surprise that when GTA VI is released, it will do much the same for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and even more for the PS5 Pro.
Mostly, players should have no concerns with how GTA VI will look and perform on current-gen consoles but that hasn't stopped some from being worried about whether the Xbox Series S can handle the demands of the highly anticipated sequel.
As reported by Comicbook.com (via videotechuk), during a recent investors call, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, Strauss Zelnick shared no concern about whether the Xbox Series S can handle GTA VI.
“We support the platforms where the consumers are for as long as they’re there, and we find a way to support platforms despite different levels of tech,” he said.

“Our labels [such as Rockstar Games] are really good at that. I’m not really worried. If one platform diminishes in value, there’s always another one.”
At the time of writing, we don't know exactly when GTA VI will be released other than a tentative late 2025 window for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Its inevitable PC launch is yet to be officially revealed.
