Already, 2025 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for video games.
I’m imagining that Grand Theft Auto VI will dominate most of the year’s chatter but it’s far from being the only highly anticipated release.
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is up there for me.

Atomfall, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Doom: The Dark Ages, Little Nightmares 3, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Monster Hunter Wilds, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and South of Midnight are also all on the way.
Dare I say, I already sense that it could be a tight race for Game of the Year.
I’m also hugely excited for the launch of Fable - and I know I’m not alone in that.
Already, Fable fans think they’ve worked out who the game’s big bad may be, and it’s a theory that’s left me convinced.

I’m hesitant to get too caught up in the hype though at this stage. After all, Fable’s launch is quite a way away. We need to pace ourselves.
With that in mind, now might be the perfect time to revisit a favourite of yesteryear like Fable 2.
Did you know that you can now experience a graphically overhauled version of the game?
ICYMI: Take a look at Fable’s latest trailer below.
If you load up Fable 2 on your Xbox, you’ll be able to run it with 4K graphics thanks to Xbox’s inbuilt FPS boost technology.

If you didn’t know, FPS boost allows older Xbox titles to run at a higher framerate and/or resolution on Xbox Series X/S, often unlocking 60fps and giving the appearance that the game has been remastered.
This is the case for Fable 2, which is available on Game Pass I should add, as demonstrated by YouTuber The Ancient Gamer.
Take a look at the game in 4K glory for yourself below.
“Great video. You caught the beauty of this game perfectly,” wrote one viewer.

“It looks great. Almost like it is a remaster,” another added.
What I will say is that Fable 2 is locked to 30fps but with FPS boost and Auto-HDR, you’ll barely notice. Instead, too distracted by those sweet, sweet graphics.
