The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has many different endings, but there’s a specific one that fans want to be made canon.
Whether it’ll happen or not is up to CD Projekt Red, fortunately we’ll find out relatively soon as the fourth Witcher game is fast approaching after being announced during the 2024 Game Awards.

With Ciri officially taking up the mantle of our lead protagonist, though to be fair she was basically the lead of the third game as well, it’s a new dawn for the series and fans couldn’t be more excited to see the state of the world after so many years.

As for what endings from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt they’d like to see continued though, fans know exactly which one should be the true ending.
That said, it's technically not an ending at all, as Reddit user SplashDMG126 found out in a recent thread.
The user states they could remember a scene where “everyone is at Corvo Bianco having a big feast, all the friends, Ciri even laughs at the painting that the artist made for Geralt. I believe the scene ended with a big family photo/portrait with everyone smiling (kind of like in a cheesy ending to a movie).”
They continued, “yet I can NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME find this anywhere online. Please tell me this was real.”

If you’re equally confused, this is from a promotional anniversary video released by CD Projekt Red.
While not strictly being a game ending though it’s still remarkably wholesome, and it’d be nice to see it continued in some way in The Witcher IV, with Geralt spending his days surrounded by friends and family but still helping out Ciri from time to time.
Whatever endings it follows though, The Witcher IV is going to be a banger and we can’t wait to play it.
