After nine years, it’s understandable that The Witcher 3 fandom is looking for ways to freshen up their experience.

Considering the age of this cherished CD Projekt Red title, it makes sense that we’re starting to tire of playing a predictable playthrough.

We crave excitement, change, and a few unexpected surprises.

Although there is hidden treasure in The Witcher 3 that doesn’t require you to alter your game in any way, there are other ways to join the White Wolf on his journey once more.

We can all agree that Ciri deserves her own Witcher game, right?

When Karottenbrot_ asked Reddit, “What are some good Mods for a darker/ more lore-accurate experience?” a wealth of suggestions came through, some of which don’t require mods at all.

One recommendation that appeared was to play the game in Polish.

Reddit user name-classified posted, “Play with the Polish language and whatever subtitles would help you translate.”

If you’re not a native speaker, you may have some doubts about playing through a game where you have to really concentrate and/or rely on translations to understand what’s going on.

As the same individual explains, though, by choosing to play in a different language the game becomes “an entirely different experience”.

While not many have tried this, those that have played it praised the game for going much harder than normal, especially when it comes to certain phrases or words.

“Every single profanity gets a hard R,” remarked gracekk24PL.

Of course, should you really be opposed to this option, there are plenty of mods mentioned within this thread as well.

But come on now, don’t you want to hear Geralt with a thick Polish accent?

It feels... right.

Besides language alterations and mods, there’s also a new Witcher 3 DLC you can explore.

Though don’t be fooled into thinking it’s the familiar package of new quests; this is something truly unique.

The Witcher 4 may be years away from launch, however, that doesn’t mean we have to go without new Geralt experiences while we wait.

More stories can be found, you just need to know where to look.
