At launch, players will only be able to play Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League if they have an internet connection, but will receive an offline mode as post-launch content.
Rocksteady Studios has officially moved on from the Batman: Arkham series, which saw its final chapter with the stunning Batman: Arkham Knight, still praised as a “legendary game” that still holds up today.

The studio’s next adventure will be Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, a continuation of the ‘Arkham-verse’ that puts an unlikely team of criminal misfits against a corrupted Justice League.

Unfortunately, fan reception so far has been abysmal, with the latest gameplay failing to impress, as well as concerns that post-launch updates and microtransactions are taking priority over fun and interesting gameplay. Another concern is the game will require an online connection to play, no matter which mode you choose. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League can be played solo, at a party with friends or random players via online matchmaking, but even if you’d rather go on alone you’ll still need a connection to the servers.
Fans didn’t take too kindly to this and speculated a delay in the game’s release may have been fixing this problem, but this wasn’t the case.
Luckily there is a ray of hope, as Rocksteady developer has confirmed via the game’s official Discord channel that offline support will be rolled out in a post-launch update, though when that will be remains a mystery.
The developer said: “We are planning to add an offline story mode that will give players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection. We’re aiming to add this update in 2024.”

Better late than never, though the damage may have already been done for some potential players, as many have publicly said they won’t be buying the game at launch but might consider it when offline play is an option.
