Steam free RPG you can download now flies to top of charts

An explosive start to this adventure

Steam users are in for a treat thanks to a chart-topping RPG being free-to-play.

It’s been a while since a new contender for top selling Steam game entered the arena.

Typically, the likes of Counter-Strike 2 take all the glory, but not this time.

Ahead of Counter-Strike 2, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and even EA Sports FC 25, this title is currently blowing its competition out of the water.

What makes this feat doubly impressive is the fact that it’s still in early access and thus not available to everyone.

However, that will soon change once it launches on 1 October.

This could mean the free RPG will dominate the sales charts even more, if such a thing is possible given its present achievements.

It's time to experience the hype for yourselves in Throne and Liberty

Throne and Liberty is the game causing such a stir among PC users. It’s “a free-to-play, multi-platform MMORPG” that delivers “changing environments” for you and your friends to explore.

As the Amazon Games title explains, “There is no single path to victory as you seek to defeat Kazar and claim the throne while keeping rival guilds at bay.”

Despite having mixed reviews, there’s plenty of positive feedback from players as well as negative.

What is more, some reviewers believe the negativity is a “pride issue” with some fans rather than genuine criticism of the game.

One Steam fan said, “Only 22 hours into game play but I am in love with environment, the fighting and the details in every aspect of the game.

“Ignore all the dumb comments about server issues [...] Server issues are normal for a game blowing up like this one and the ‘p2w’ is a pride issue some people have.”

User Red_Boss_Scorpion posted, “Throne & Liberty has a feel of old Lineage 2 and Black Desert combined. The story is great, keeps you engaged till the end. The world, weapons, armour, monsters look really good and polished. Weapons are fun to use.”

At the time of writing this, there were over 4,900 reviews.

With its launch imminent, we’re curious to see how record breaking the stats for Throne and Liberty end up becoming.
