Fancy building your own trade empire? You've come to the right place

If you’re someone who’s ideal game might be one described as ‘laid back’, then I may have just the thing for you.

PandaUpStudio’s East Trade Tycoon: Inheritance is a brand new trading simulator with somewhat of a cosy aesthetic.

Sure, management games aren’t always a gentle stroll through the park, but you hardly need to lock in like, say, you would in a shooter.

Eastern Trade Tycoon: Inheritance is a trading simulator game. In the game, you can go from zero to hero,” the synopsis reads.

“By trading markets, build a business, earn money, level up, invest accurately, and manage a family to become a trading tycoon!”

That may sound a little dull on paper, but it’s much more fun in practice.

If you're a fan of franchises like Age of Empires or Civilization, I have a fan that you’ll like what you see here.

In fact, there’s almost a Stardew Valley-vibe to it, if you’re a player who relishes in the day-to-day running of your farm.

Civilization VII is set to land next year. Take a look at the game in action below.

Set in a fictionalised version of East Asia, the game will see you journey from a “penniless newcomer to a wealthy merchant”.

You’ll want to buy and sell goods, invest in cities, complete trade contacts, and manage your family.

You can also marry and have kids, appointing them roles to help in your growing family empire.

There are 80 cities in total, and it’ll take you a year’s worth of in-game time to journey across the entirety of the map.

The game is totally free-to-play although if you game on Mac, it’s worth bearing in mind that East Trade Tycoon: Inheritance is not compatible with macOS 10.15 Cataline or above.

If that doesn’t affect you though, it’s well worth giving the title a whirl judging by the Very Positive reviews.

“Super cute and fun little game. Great gameplay for free little merchant simulator,” read one review.

“The game is very good and addicting, I recommend it,” another added.

It’s available to try now.
