If you enjoy being scared by a good horror game, this upcoming title might just be the game to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.
P.T (Playable Teaser) was announced at Gamescom in August 2014 and to say that this first-person horror game sent the internet into a frenzy would be an understatement. To this day, I don’t think I’ve seen a shadow drop that garnered so much instantaneous hype as P.T and is still considered to be one of the best horror games ever, despite being a demo.
Check out the Haunted Bloodlines trailer below!
P.T was shadow-dropped on the PlayStation Store and it involved a story surrounding a ghost named Lisa and players would essentially follow a loop of corridors which would subtly alter as the story mysteriously unravelled. Upon completion and solving some very brain-teasing puzzles, P.T was revealed to be a demo for Silent Hills starring Normal Reedus and it was to be developed by Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding creator, Hideo Kojima.

Sadly, in 2015 following a messy divorce with Hideo Kojima, Konami decided to cancel Silent Hills, and P.T was pulled from the PlayStation Store. Yet, the sudden extinction of P.T and Silent Hills inspired countless horror games from indie developers with its impact still being felt today.
This brings us to the topic of today's story. It is related to a promising indie horror called Haunted Bloodlines developed by Horrified Triangles and you can download and play the free demo via the Steam store right now.
“Haunted Bloodlines is a first-person survival, psychological horror game. In the dark rooms of an expanding mansion, a terrifying story unfolds,” reads the description of the game, “As the mansion breathes, hidden secrets lay within its walls.”
The playable demo for Haunted Bloodlines was announced during the recent Steam Next Fest with the developers teasing “Your only way to survive is to hide or run.” What’s more, the developers have encouraged players to provide feedback on the demo to help improve the game when it is eventually released.

Haunted Bloodlines does not have a release date but hopefully, it will launch later this year and at the time of writing, only a PC release has been announced. However, psychological horror fans can at least look forward to the launch of the Silent Hill 2 remake when it arrives on PC and PlayStation 5 on 6 October 2024.
