One of the most fun zombie action games in recent years, Dying Light 2: Stay Human is about to get even better with a free event inspired by the cult-hit movie, The Raid.
The first Dying Light was released in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Developed by Techland, the same studio that brought us the original Dead Island game in 2011, Dying Light is a first-person title that blends fluid parkour gameplay as you climb buildings and race across rooftops to avoid hordes of zombies eager to feast on your flesh while trying to unravel a government conspiracy.

Don’t get me wrong, Dying Light wasn't a perfect game, but it sure as hell is fun and developers Techland, aimed to improve on its predecessor in almost every way with 2022’s, Dying Light 2: Stay Human. What’s more, when it comes to content support, there are few better than Techland.

In our review of Dying Light 2: Stay Human, we said: “Techland’s long-awaited zombie RPG mostly delivers the goods in style, providing an expansive - if not entirely original - open-world playground that’s filled with epic action, pleasingly brutal combat, and some difficult choices.”
Since the launch of the first Dying Light, Techland has supported the game with not only The Following expansion but also a wealth of free DLC and events for the best part of a decade. However, now that the sequel is here, it seems the developers are aiming for the same level of content support with Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
Inspired by the Indonesian action movie written and directed by Gareth Evans, The Raid, Dying Light 2: Stay Human has a free event ready to download now via an update. Before now, the free event ‘Tower Raid’ has been a closed beta but now the doors are open to all.
As part of update 1.17 for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, ‘Tower Raid’ is now in open beta for Steam users on PC with three phases. In phase one of the open beta which began on 27 June, you will have access to 12 challenging floors, 20 modifiers and plenty of loot to acquire.

On 4 July, phase two will begin, taking the total number of floors to 15, with 10 additional modifiers, four new rewards as well as an ‘Elite Mode’ difficulty setting. Phase three begins on 11 July, adding six more modifiers (bringing that total to 36), three more rewards (12 in total) and double XP.
Then on 18 July, ‘Tower Raid’ will be removed from Dying Light 2: Stay Human with the developers analysing all the available data provided by the open beta and the community feedback.
There is no date as to when the full version of ‘Tower Raid’ will be released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, but hopefully, it will arrive in Dying Light 2: Stay Human at some point this year.
