Steam users can snag a free surprise download as part of a new sale no one thought would be coming back anytime soon.
In a shocking turn of events Steam has brought back its Lunar New Sale, bringing with it loads of discounts on a long list of games.

It’s a welcome surprise, as Steam had previously announced back in 2022 that it would replace the Lunar New Year sale with a Spring sale instead. A year later, a Chinese New Year sale popped up, and now we’ve come full circle back to the Lunar New Year sale. Steam hasn’t provided a comment on what made it bring the sale back, it’s a welcome return nonetheless.

As you can imagine the games on sale all come from Chinese game studios, with some amazing discounts being offered on a large variety of games.
Additionally, users can be rewarded with several free downloads in the form of login bonuses. All you need to do is log into Steam each day of the sale for some digital freebies to add to your profile, the first of which being a dragon sticker.
They’re not the most exciting rewards but some users love collecting as many as they can, so those users won’t want to miss out on these goodies.
Of course if no items in the Lunar New Year sale have caught your eye it’s not the end of the world, as Steam is currently packed with games that deserve a spot on your wishlist or game library. One such game is this Stardew Valley-inspired farming simulator, or this exciting RPG mashup of Elden Ring and The Elder Scrolls. There’s also a long list of free games you add to your library for a limited time if you’d rather hold onto your cash for the time being.
