Steam has dropped eight brand-new games you can download and keep for free, with no need for a subscription.
If you're looking to save some money ahead of Christmas but still want to check out some new games, this smattering of free titles currently available on Steam could be just what you need.
Your eight free Steam games for November are:
MetaStrike is first on our list, and looks like it might just fill the Call Of Duty void for anyone who can't yet afford Black Ops 6. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest it's not quite as good, but a freebie is a freebie.

Next up is Excommunicated, an adventure/puzzle game in which you need to overcome obstacles by typing out words. Personally I love a good typing game, so I'm into this.
If typing isn't your jam, you might consider taking a look at Sivi's Factory, a horror game set inside what appears to be an abandoned factory. Spoiler: it is not abandoned.
Then we have Hidden Pass Skirmishes, a really rather stylish looking turn-based tactical RPG set in a fantasy realm.
If that's not for you, Small Dragon Big Appetite has players take charge of the dragon Chompie "as he explores the enchanted bunny kingdom, hunting down bunnies to satisfy his insatiable appetite!”

After that, there's Presidents Tower Defense, which sees you fight off an alien invasion as one of the US presidents. I'm assuming the game starts when George Bush says there's oil on mars.
Then there's Mash Box, described as “a prototype sandbox game from an indie team, offering endless creative possibilities.” It's early days for this one, but the devs want you to “be part of its evolution with regular updates and help shape the tech foundation for future games. Dive in and influence the development of something special!”
The last game on our list is called Cemetery Warrior 6, a “dynamic” shooter that looks more than a little like DOOM.
