Four free games just dropped on Steam, and at least one of them looks to be a certified banger (based on its 100% positive Steam reviews).
Thank you in advance to the Free Steam Games Twitter account for spotting these!
I’m gonna tackle these in order of their Steam reviews, from worst to best, but don’t let that dissuade you from trying any of the earlier titles in this list out as all of these are fresh releases.

Any big issues will likely be fixed with some patches down the line, so a “Mixed” game could very well turn into a “Very Positive” in a months time.
First up we have SHOTBALL. This one is, and I’m using “literally” in the literal sense here, literally just Rocket League with guns. That’s not an exaggeration.
Still, shooting balls into a net for free sounds kinda fun, so how come this has a “Mixed” review score, with only 48% of the review being positive?
Based on the reviews, it sounds like the issue has to do with the matchmaking system. The gameplay is solid from the sounds of things, but matches seem a bit too difficult to find. This might be something that’s fixed down the line though, so I’d suggest keeping an eye on this one.

Next up we have TRIBE NINE (why are all these titles in all-caps?) which is a free-to-play RPG that actually looks super fun and polished. However, it has a “Mixed” review score, with 68% of the reviews being positive.
So what’s the issue? Well, it’s a gacha game, but the negative reviews seem to be focusing on the F2P nature of the game. It sounds like, if you don’t want to spend money, it’s a bit of a grind-fest.
But… the developers just (as in, less than two days ago) updated the game to address this issue and stated that the drop rates for everything have massively increased. The reviews don’t seem to have reflected this change yet, so I think in a couple of weeks time that review score will have changed.
CREAMARE - The Game is described as “an engaging serious game that brings Mediterranean underwater archaeological sites to life in stunning 3D” by its developers, and this one kind of reminds me of the Aquanaut's Holiday games (for all three of you out there that might have played those).

No consensus on this one yet, as there are only a couple of reviews on Steam, so you might have to take the plunge on CREAMARE - The Game.
Now, here’s that certified banger I was talking about earlier: Wheelborn.
I’m not entirely sure how to explain this one, but you appear to be some kind of dog/monster hybrid that has wheels for feet. Also, I’m pretty sure it’s a souls-like.
Anyway, it’s only been out for just over a week and it already has a 100% positive review consensus. Sounds like it’ll only take you a couple of hours to complete, but the fact that you get the full game for nothing and it’s not some kind of early-access title is a rarity these days.

Personally, I think I’ll be trying out TRIBE NINE and Wheelborn, but there’s no wrong answer here. Free is free, after all.
