Now that we're well and truly into spring, it's time to do what I do best: carry on gaming as if it's still freezing outside.
2025 is already shaping up to be a ridiculous year for video games. I recently reviewed - and loved - Assassin's Creed Shadows, while my team have all been raving about markedly different games I've yet to get my hands on.
But what if you've not currently got the funds for some of the newer AAA releases and you're looking to kill some time? We've got you covered.

At the time of writing, there are no less than 14 new free games available on Steam for you to download and keep.
Are they all bangers? Probably not, to be blunt. Will you find something to love? I'm willing to bet yes.
Here are the 14 latest free Steam games to keep you busy through April
- Run Bird Run! - A pretty simple looking infinite runner. About birds.
- Lost City Of Bardo - An 'open-world' maze adventure game.
- Kombi - A grid-based puzzle game to keep your brain happy.
- Qualia - Not entirely sure what's happening in this one, but the reviews are good.
- Rugby Tycoon Rugby Rovigo Delta - An incredibly complicated name for a game that is effectively a rugby club manager.
- Cobble: The Stone Forager - Gather resources in a cosy lil' sim.
- Dinos TD - Save the dinosaurs from extinction in this tower defense game.
- Timelost - A free-to-play multiplayer soulslike with some solid reviews.
- CraftPunk - A chaotic real-time strategy game with cute visuals.
- Section Gamma - A turn-based strategy game with sci-fi vibes.
- Across Icaria - A very striking-looking shoot 'em up.
- Turtle Riders: Adventure Begins - Because who doesn't love a turtle?
- Magitech Requiem - A gritty top-down shooter.
- BAPBAP - A colourful new MOBA with a fun name and some strong reviews.
And there you have it! Naturally, Steam is full of free games with new ones dropping every day, so be sure to check back again soon for more. But this should keep you busy for now, unless you're a particularly greedy little gamer.
