One of Steam's most popular games right now is absolutely on fire (in a good way), and the best part is that you can download and play it for free.
I know that you know there are way too many amazing games to play right now, but who among us can resist the pull of a free game? Like a cartoon hobo floating towards the scent of a freshly baked pie on the windowsill, I see free games on Steam and am immediately lured. It helps that this one has a 10/10 rating on Steam with hundreds of positive reviews.
The game in question is called Backpack Battles, and it's already found itself at the top of SteamDB's trending games since launching on 8 March. Developer PlayWithFurcifer describes it as "a PvP inventory management auto battler," where you can "buy and craft powerful items, then carefully arrange them in your backpack."

In other words, if you find sorting through your inventory in Resident Evil to be one of the best parts of the game, you'll love Backpack Battles.
At the time of writing Backpack Battles has had nearly 2,000 reviews since launching a few days ago, and the consensus is overwhelmingly positive.
"This game gives your big brain shots of serotonin when you crush someone in pvp with a 180 IQ play, all because you rotated a squirrel 90 degrees so it'd eat more food and steal all your opponents buffs," one reviewer writes.
Another adds: "I have played hundred of hours on the demo. I bought the new version as soon as it was out. I do not regret it.

"This game is fun, fast paced and well designed. I will recommend to anyone young and not so young. You can play casually or more competitively. Great Game!"
You can download the demo right now, and if you like what you play, the full game is currently 10 percent off - meaning you can grab it for under a tenner. Not too shabby at all.
