If you like sandbox games than Minecraft but want to see one on a larger scale, this Steam game might be the one for you.
It’s quite good timing actually since Minecraft has once again skyrocketed in popularity with the upcoming live-action film, which looks just as cursed as it does charming.
You can see the trailer for the Minecraft film below, which stars huge talent like Jack Black and Jason Mamoa
For those looking to play something Minecraft-y in the build up to the film’s premiere you might be interested in Cubic Odyssey, a Steam title that looks like someone cubified Starfield.

Starfeld is of course Bethesda’s AAA space-exploration game, which didn’t do very well in terms of fan reception but it’s not a bad game by any means, expectations were just set too high I think.
Cubic Odyssey’s description reads: “Embark on a galactic journey in Cubic Odyssey, an open-world adventure where you explore vibrant planets, craft tools, build vehicles, and fight the Red Darkness. Uncover ancient mysteries, and shape a universe full of life, danger, and limitless possibilities!”
In many ways it reminds me of the Kerbal Space Program games, I don’t know why, it must have something to do with the aesthetic.
Either way it looks like a good time, and the gameplay footage from the store page shows the player’s character exploring the planet, building bases and equipment to help the cause. It’s just sci-fi Minecraft basically, how can you possibly go wrong with that?

Now unfortunately you can’t play the game for yourself just yet as it’s not out, and there aren’t any demos at the time of writing to speak of.
Cubic Odyssey will apparently be launching sometime this year though, so you might not have long to wait before you can dive in and try it for yourself. It’s worth wishlisting in the meantime though.
