Stardew Valley fans, you need to play this adorable farming-simulator while you can and you can do so via a free demo for a limited time.
We’re certainly not short of farming simulator games. Have a look between your couch cushions and you’ll probably find one buried in there along with some lint and a few pennies. That being said, none have really done the genre better than Stardew Valley, which is often considered one of the greatest games ever made. If you like that game and need something to pass the time before the next update comes out, you should absolutely check out Southfield.
Take a look at the gameplay trailer for Southfield below
The best way I can describe Southfield is Stardew Valley but with cute jelly people. It also gives off some Slime Ranchers vibes if you’ve ever played that game or its sequel. You can build a cosy little home and grow a variety of colourful plants. The twist is you can combine the plants for a variety of different effects, and it also states you can build machinery to help make the farming process run smoothly and efficiently.

It looks gorgeous, with a colourful open world supposedly packed with secrets, some quirky NPCs to take quests from and of course the variety of crops you can grow and combine should keep you entertained for several hours, and the machines you can build for several hours more.
Southfield can be played solo, or online with friends for some co-operative fun.
There’s currently no release date for the game, though it is in early access and can be played for free right now via a demo.
Out of all the farming simulator games I’ve seen over the past few months, I can honestly say this one looks the most appealing, so definitely add it to your wishlist for updates on the full release.
