This stunning RPG blends elements from Minecraft and Palworld, and it’s free to play on Steam right now.
Palworld has taken the world by storm since its release, garnering a lot of attention for its similarities to the Pokémon franchise. Despite being very different to usual Pokémon gameplay, like how you can equip your monsters with machine guns as well as catch and trade actual human beings, it’s drawn a lot of attention to other games in the genre.
Check out Palworld below.
One such game is Voxlands, which gives off some serious Palworld vibes as well as looking like Minecraft but with guns. Of course there have been plenty of games that offer a similar experience, my personal favourite being CastleMiner Z on the old Xbox Live Arcade, but I’m loving the look of this one so far.

Voxlands’ description reads: “Explore gorgeous raytraced voxel lands, meet the local mutated wild-life, find out what went wrong, and quest, craft, loot, build, destroy and shoot your way to the top of the foodchain! Play alone, or with friends! Assuming you know how to share.”
As it clearly states, the point of the game is to explore, craft and build up your supplies, all while defending yourself from ravenous monsters, like the scarecrows who look especially goofy.
Now to say it’s a game made up of blocks, it looks absolutely gorgeous, thanks to the ray traced lighting, detailed textures, and enhanced resolution. You could of course achieve the same effects on Minecraft via mods, but I’d argue this looks ever so slightly better.
The good news is you can try Voxlands for yourself with a free demo, which will give you a taste of the full experience. The game is still in early access at the time of writing, and doesn’t currently have a release date.
