Halo and Metal Gear Solid isn’t a combination I’d ever thought about, but this Steam game somehow makes it work.
With Halo at quite a low-point right now and Metal Gear Solid only having remakes to keep fans interested, both series could do with a bit of a boost.
That said, the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake is looking exceptional so far
We’re not going to get that boost today, but what we are getting is a game coming to Steam soon that seemingly blends both IPs together, a strange match-up but hear us out.

It’s called Metal Eden, and while it’s not highly reminiscent of Halo and Metal Gear Solid in a stylistic sense there are some similarities.
The Steam description for those interested reads: “An adrenaline-rush sci-fi FPS. A HYPER UNIT ASKA is sent on a suicide mission to rescue citizens' COREs from MOEBIUS, an orbital city turned into a deadly trap. Dive into cybernetic warfare, face the ENGINEERS, and uncover the secrets of METAL EDEN.”
Basically, it’s a sci-fi shooter where you’re fighting a variety of deadly robots, mechs and such.
It looks rather good, and I’m a big fan of the colourful artstyle, all we need now is for it to actually come out.

The current release date is scheduled for 6 May, not a very long wait but it’s still a good couple of months away.
It got my Halo-coded brain going at least, especially after wishing for so long that we’d get another banger. Halo Infinite was pretty good but it was still missing that certain something.
Metal Gear Solid fans should be a little more hopeful though, as even if Konami never makes a brand-new game for the series Hideo Kojima is working on a new IP that sounds like a spiritual successor to Metal Gear, so that sounds promising.
