It has been almost a decade since Bethesda’s last single-player Fallout entry, Fallout 4, was released but due to its less-than-smooth launch, it is pretty easy to forget that Fallout 76 arrived back in 2018.
Plagued with glitches and bugs, a lacklustre open world and less-than-compelling story, Fallout 76 was shunned by the fanbase when it was first released.
However, thanks to constant updates, patches and brand-new content, Fallout 76 has become a fan-favourite entry, especially as it can be played with friends.
It is set 25 years after the bombs first fell and you and your fellow Vault Dwellers emerge from underground bunkers to face a now post-apocalyptic world.

Fallout 76 is the first multiplayer Fallout entry and even better, it’s completely free to download on Steam for the next 48 hours.
The epic deal was announced during this week's Fallout Day event and is available until 29 October.
So if you like Fallout and have a PC, then don’t miss out.
As it stands, Fallout 76 sits at a “mostly positive” rating on Steam.

“Been playing since launch. Had some bumps in the road early on but is in a great state now and the most un-toxic online experience,” one positive review read.
Another said: “I really like the game. Many fixes and changes made this game playable, lots of content and hours spent exploring Appalachia made me happy. 9/10.”
