There’s a new game coming to Steam soon and it looks fantastic, with demons, boomsticks, and magic-galore.
I’m a sucker for a good PvE shooter. I do love the odd competitive multiplayer game, like a Halo or Call Of Duty Black Ops title, but I’d much prefer blasting unsuspecting demons and aliens in a solid campaign.
It’s why I’m excited for Doom: The Dark Ages, which you can see below.
While the game we’ve found on Steam isn’t quite at that level yet, it does look like a bloody good time, and we saw a bit of Call Of Duty, Doom and even some God Of War influence mixed in there.

It’s called Hellbreak, and you can play a demo of it for free right now on Steam before its official release.
Hellbreak’s description reads: “Fight to save your soul from damnation in a brutal arena where only the strongest survive. Entertain the Lords of Hell and earn their favour to unlock new weapons, spells, and blessings. Dive into this fast-paced roguelite arena shooter and achieve the highest score. Can you reclaim your soul?”
Like any good roguelite, you’re not just mashing and bashing monsters for no reason, you’re doing it to unlock some sweet new power-ups to make even more mayhem.
Boons aside, it feels like a solid first-person shooter, with engaging gameplay and plenty of gore. In fact, it reminded me heavily of Warhammer 40k: Boltgun, another fun shooter I’d recommend to anyone, even if you don’t play Warhammer 40k.

The game’s release date hasn’t been shared at the time of writing, but it has been promised for sometime in Q1 2025, so you shouldn’t have to wait too long to experience the full thing.
Definitely give the demo a try for yourself though. It’s free, after all, and who doesn’t love blowing up demonic entities?
