Black Myth: Wukong performed well critically, garnering a score of 82.
With that in mind, it always felt like a game that was destined to somewhat perform well commercially.
I say somewhat because let’s not forget that the game was marred with controversy, namely over influencers being told not to stream the game whilst mentioning news, politics, Covid-19, or “feminist propaganda”.

This followed a report by IGN detailing a long history of misogynistic marks made by developers at the studio.

If you’re yet to check out the game but aren’t too sure whether your PC can handle its new-gen visuals, don’t forget that the Benchmark Tool is available to download from Steam for free.

It makes use of real-time rendering to create an in-game sequence, so you also get a small glimpse at what’s to come should you pick up the full game.
“You can customise benchmark settings to preview game visuals and performance under different graphics options,” it advises.
Naturally, should you then find out that you’re able to pick up the full release, that will set you back a fair bit.
There are currently no major discounts on the game given that it’s only just released, instead retailing for £49.99.

At least now though, you can check that playing through Black Myth: Wukong is feasible on your device before you part with such a significant wad of money.
