The Steam version of Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been updated with additional features and support options.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage being ported to Steam was a lovely little surprise from Ubisoft, and won the company a tiny amount of favour with fans after delaying Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The company has been in hot water for other reasons of course but the mismanagement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the big one.

Nevertheless Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a great game and arguably one of the best since Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, is playable on Steam now and it now has Steam Deck support.
This announcement was added to the game’s official Steam page, and read: “The game will automatically detect your Steam Deck and will run default settings for better performances on this device. We recommend keeping using the proposed presets to smoothly experience Basim's coming of age story on your Steam Deck.”
If you haven’t got a Steam Deck yet I’d wholeheartedly recommend one, especially if you don’t have a PC and don’t plan on getting one anytime soon.
Admittedly I don’t use mine nearly as much as I should, but it’s fantastic for playing AAA games on-the-go and of course games that are exclusive to Steam (just make sure they’re either “Playable” or “Verified” for the best results).

Assassin’s Creed Mirage follows Basim, a character we’d seen already in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, as he becomes an assassin, getting into plenty of scrapes and emotional conflicts on the way.
From the sound of things Basim’s story isn’t quite done yet, so perhaps we’ll see him again in a future entry.
If you haven’t played the game before the Steam Deck is a great way to do so, and if you’ve played the game you can at least play it again but portably.
