A new map expansion mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 opens up the North-East part of the world, as if the game needed to be any bigger.
Just the other day I had a random thought as to how long it takes in real life to ride from one corner of the Red Dead Redemption 2 map to the other, why I thought this I have no idea. Turns out it takes around 15-20 minutes on a horse, which is wild if you ask me.

With a world this big one can only imagine what Rockstar Games is cooking for GTA VI, though to be fair in that game will have an assortment and land and air vehicles to get from Point A to Point B in record time.

That being said, the right mods can somehow make Red Dead Redemption 2 even bigger, by demolishing the invisible walls and blockades that prevent the player from exploring out-of-bounds portions of the map.
So far there’s been one for Mexico, one for returning to Guarma, and the one we’re talking about today, the North-East Map Expansion mod.
Simply put it lets the player access a portion of the map that they can’t usually get to, and even adds a few camps, a bridge for easy access and some wildlife for hunting.
Obviously all you can really do there is hang out and take in the sights, as since Rockstar never intended for it to be accessible there are no missions or random encounters to speak of.

That being said it’s worth trying if one of your favourite things to do in the game is simply roam around wherever the wind takes you.
