Has Naughty Dog made a rod for its own back? Possibly, after Uncharted fans once again make it known that they want an OG trilogy remaster for the PS5, with some going to great lengths to make that happen.
We get it – Uncharted is a fantastic franchise, with much potential still left unlocked if it never comes to PS5. Add to that the fact that the devs have remastered The Last of Us to much success, it stands to reason that other beloved franchises should also get the same treatment. Yet, no OG trilogy remaster is in sight for Uncharted. Poor, Nathan Drake.

So, what are fans to do when nothing they want gets done? They petition, of course. As we all know, video game petitions rarely work, with them often failing to get any traction whatsoever; sadly, this Uncharted petition is doomed to that fate. Started in Dec 2022, the petition has only managed to get 92 signatures, with its next goal starting when it reaches 100.

It’s not looking good, is it? The Charge.org petition reads:
“Imagine seeing the plane in Uncharted 3 explode in ray-traced 4k as the winds activates the haptics. Imagine feeling the trigger pressure as you shoot the resin and kill Lazarevic. Imagine hearing the waves and the rain in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune through the controller speaker. The rain drops slamming against the helipad as you fight to rescue Elena. Naughty Dog has proven they make amazing and faithful remakes with the recent release of The Last Of Us Part 1. Remakes of the Uncharted trilogy could bring the series to a whole new demographic.”
Such a rousing plea, yet still one falling on deaf ears. We’re not saying Naughty Dog don’t care, but rather they’re focused on other things right now. We might get a remaster further down the line, but for now, we watch as another petition gets battered by the wind, forgotten by all, even the fandom.
