The Last Of Us stars Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson have reprised their iconic roles as Joel and Ellie for the first time since The Last Of Us Part II in 2020.
While HBO's The Last Of Us brought Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic adventure to arguably a much larger audience than ever before, PlayStation fans will always see Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson as the definitive Joel and Ellie. That's no shade against Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, of course, who were both brilliant in the live-action adaptation.
Baker and Johnson cameoed in HBO's The Last Of Us, with both actors playing fairly substantial roles. Baker met his grisly end at the hand of Ellie as one of David's cannibal gang, while Johnson played Ellie's mother in a heartbreaking flashback.

While we wait for official news of a third Last Of Us game, fans can look forward to Baker and Johnson reprising their original roles as part of this year's Halloween Horror Nights attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando. Not quite a new game, then, but any excuse to see Joel and Ellie back together.
The Last of Us Halloween Horror Nights theme park was announced back in June, but SFX Magazine now reports that it got Baker and Johnson in to record some new lines in character.
"We got to use the voiceover actors from the video game," Universal Orlando's Lora Sauls told SFX. "We did voiceover recordings with them and they re-recorded our entire dialogue for our haunted house. So we were very, very excited to work with both Troy and Ashley on the re-recording of our haunted house dialogue."
Universal also worked with Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann, who directed The Last Of Us and The Last Of Us Part II, and also served as co-creator on the TV series. Apparently Druckmann really wanted the horror experience to embrace on particular area from the first game.

Sauls said: "When working with Neil and team, they actually said to us, 'can we lean into the Pittsburgh part of the first video game?' And we were like, 'sure.' We later found out that that graphic in the Pittsburgh area got so many accolades online, and we understood why Neil wanted us to lean into Pittsburgh."
The Last Of Us themed attraction opens 1 September at Universal Orlando starting and 7 September at Universal Studios Hollywood.
